This is for RDC league play only, RDC does not cover skaters to play in the USA on USA teams or in USA leagues. If you have a skater joining your league from another country RDC cannot cover them under the RDC accident insurance policy.
Roller Derby Canada strongly recommends that all skaters, particularly those who frequently travel, consider obtaining additional insurance coverage. It's important to note that our policies do not cover lost wages, and while your provincial health care and RDC’s policies provide basic coverage, they may not fully cover all medical and related expenses in case of injury. For comprehensive protection and to avoid financial burdens from uncovered expenses, it's important to secure supplemental insurance that covers any gap. Please note that Roller Derby does not offer these additional plans; securing such coverage is the responsibility of each skater to ensure full protection during activities and travel.
For those seeking broader coverage options, Waypoint Benefits & Financial Services can assist with securing additional travel insurance and other personal coverage. You can obtain a travel insurance quote directly online via this link. For any other personal insurance coverage, please reach out to Sandra Dowsett at sandra.dowsett@waypoint.ca and she would be happy to assist you.
